along the enchanted way

I found this book on Toast's website. It looks fabulous, although I may just be judging a book by its cover. It's described as an enchanting memoir of 10 years in Transylvania, by William Blacker, "the photos are worth the price alone." Hmm, I might have to have my husband pick me up a copy in London this weekend...

I took this picture late last summer and hadn't looked at it until now. I've always liked dramatic clouds.

nothing's shocking

Picture 2.png

I wish I had seen this John Varvatos photo shoot with Perry Farrell, just two blocks below my office on the Bowery. I walk by this intersection every day on my way to and from the train. You can actually see the building I work in; it's the brick one left of the second 'one way' sign.

tights

knightly3.jpg

Wow! I am so behind on posts, but I promise I will make it up to you guys soon. Work and social obligations have certainly been heavy this week. Taking a cue from Uncle Beefy, I discovered these awesome photos of Keira Knightley. In NYC (at least) patterned tights are all the rage. I'm trying to decide if I have the legs and the wardrobe to pull them off. In the meantime I'll admire Keira's.

For the rest of the week I'll be in Mexico for work, and won't be posting. See you next week! In the meantime, here's a shot of a gorgeous Mexican interior from "Mexico Style" of Taschen's ICON series.

rolleiflex (mini)

rolleiflexleica
I was instantly obsessed with this tiny Rolleiflex as I was with this Leica the moment I saw it. My mother has an original Rolleiflex from the 60's that belonged to her mother. It still takes some of the best photos I've ever seen.

sweet paul

I recently discovered sweet paul, by a Norwegian in NY about design, craft and food. I thought today would be a good day to post this lovely blog and also say Happy Birthday to Norway (it's Norway's Constitution Day)!

retro cuba

corinna.png
With Cuba in the news these days, I thought I'd post about Corinna Radcliffe's photographically printed fashion and home accessories, found on her website. Her patterns include nostalgia-inducing shots of Havana, which you can order on cushions, bags, clocks, lampshades, and other fare.
