quote of the day

"I think we emphasize the understated, again, keeping the designs simple and fresh. We have never been ones to add garish or tacky details. Our particular aesthetic does not necessarily want to be the focus of attention, but instead blend into the wearer’s everyday clothing choice."

learn british

I don't usually blog about baby stuff, but I just had one 3 weeks ago and I really liked Charlie and Sarah's designs based on British flashcards when I saw them a few months ago at the Brooklyn Flea in Dumbo. I bought this onesie from them last Saturday. You can buy their designs on their Etsy shop too.

calm down

I think I might need to calm down a little bit about John Robshaw's spring '09 catalog; I want everything in it.

pillows, charming and affordable

I came across these lovely felt pillows on Etsy from Cheryland. If I had a kid's room, they'd make a wonderful addition at 7 bucks a pop.

blogroll: inchmark

Picture 1

Hello friends! At the suggestion of my husband, I'm starting a new series of posts on Tuesdays called 'blogroll' to review new and interesting blogs. I thought I'd get started with inchmark, a new blog (that I found via cup of jo) by fellow Brooklyn resident [correction:] Southern California resident, Brooke Reynolds.

Brooke is, among other things, a book designer, a mother of two, and the former senior art director of Martha Stewart Living and Martha Stewart Kids. Her blog is a lovely combination of interesting graphic media, photographs of her projects, and sweet anecdotes about her family, with a masthead reminiscent of the margins of now-defunct Blueprint magazine (sniff).

Brooke is also the designer of Lena Corwin's inspiring new book, Printing By Hand!

Check inchmark every other day or so for a aesthetically pleasing/inspiring/delightful post to sweeten your day.
