My mother, sister and I are working on renovating a summer cottage we bought on an island in Maine, and I looking for decorating ideas I found this post from the blog {this is glamorous} inspiring.

pantone prediction

Picture 1

I had never heard about this until my colleague told me about it the other day: Pantone publishes a fashion color report for spring and fall of each year. These lovely gems are the color predictions for fall 2008.

zero pollution

How about a car that runs on air, gets 106 mpg, generates no pollution, and costs $17.8k? It gets 200 miles per tank, and recharges at an air compression station, or plug it in at home and an on-board compresser refills the tank in 4 hours for about $2 of electricity. Too good to be true? Nope. My colleague Marlène gave me a heads up on this zippy looking compressed air vehicle, coming to the US in 2010.

tuuli

I can't get enough of this Marimekko pattern called Tuuli. I already have a purse made from it that I bought from the Marimekko store in Girona, Spain. I'd love to have the bedding too.

This Jalapeño Pepper paint from Benjamin Moore is a fantastic shade to try out if you want to go green in one of your rooms. I think it would make a great color for a small kitchen. via Remodelista

grom

Summer is in full swing in New York, with more than a couple of days of 90+ weather under the belt, it couldn't be a better time for gelato. The Italian gelateria, Grom, recently opened on Bleecker and Carmine and last Friday I couldn't resist an invitation to try it out. When you are in Italy or New York, I highly recommend their nocciola.

These new nesting boxes from West Elm caught my eye. I like the hat-box-turned-storage concept and simple graphics.

USB vacuum

I have a total love-hate relationship with Urban Outfitters—I'd like to think more hate than love—but there's no denying that once and a while they have something pretty damn neat. You have to admit this keyboard vacuum is kind of awesome.

These nice, clean lined modular units from Publique Living are lacquer over plywood. They remind me of the palasets we had in our house when I was a kid.

There are lots of lovely finds in the latest issue of Domino magazine (June issue). One of my favs (above) is Lucy Rose Design's Borderline collection of fabrics.
