So cute I almost don't want to eat these marzipan halloween figures on sale for half price at Dean & DeLuca.
'Curious Chili' chocolate ganache skull from D.L. & Co., purveyor of gorgeous gothic-baroque-victorian-art nouveau goods, edible and not. Their website is really beautiful too.
Dean & Deluca has teamed up with D.L. & Co. to exclusively carry a boxed set of three chocolate ganache skulls and these:
Skull placeholder
The candle is a good deal at half price ($45). Most of D.L. & Co.'s candles run $100 or more.
These skull plates are on the refined end of the spectrum of the hipster-80s-punk skull trend over the past year or so.

brrrr...
It's getting cold (and dark!) out, and it's time to think about mittens, hot chocolate, and jacking up the heat (kidding).
Wool and cashmere from J. Crew.
Aztec hot chocolate bar from MarieBelle.
If you're like me you live in a pre-war apartment with ancient, noisy radiators and no control over when the heats turns on or off; windows are my thermostat. But whether you control your heat or not, it's worth reading Low Impact Living's article with suggestions for saving energy this winter. You can also contact your local utility company to see if they offer a green power option.

new from Taschen Books
There are many reasons to love Taschen Books. These 11 durable Hotels & More, Restaurants & More, and Shops & More guide books have great photos and maps, information, and a space for notes. Plus they have adorable silkscreened covers. Several of these titles are being released in November and December.

volver
There's something very Marimekko about the flowers in these beautiful ending credits from Pedro Almodóvar's movie "Volver". I wish someone would make a fabric out of the design. Click on the image to watch.

a bag for good
Zac Posen designed this Italian leather bag for DHL. The $400 price tag includes a 100% donation to TeachersCount, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to creating a permanent culture of teacher appreciation (as seen on notcouture.com).

Darn those Danes! They make the most awesome stuff. I'm sad that I'm not Danish. Canvas bag and canvas purse from Kragh·Rosenberg.

dressed up flats
I love this simple way of making plain everyday flats look dressed up by tying a shiny satin ribbon around the foot. If you have shiny flats a matte silk ribbon would probably be just as nice. Courtesy of the November/December issue of Blueprint.

coe & waito cylinders
I know these beautiful Coe & Waito cylinders have been around for a while, but I just noticed them. I especially like the way each pattern is mirrored.
